The canister was actually part of the gasoline evaporative control system (EVAP), which was introduced to prevent the fuel vapor from escaping into the atmosphere after the engine stopped operating. Since 1995, all our newly manufactured cars must have this provision in our country system. First of all, let's see how it works, as shown in Figure 1 below: After the engine is turned off, the gasoline vapor and fresh air are mixed in the tank and stored in the activated carbon tank. When the engine is started, The electromagnetic valve between the tubes is opened, and the gasoline vapor in the activated carbon canister is brought into the cylinder for combustion by the clean air under the vacuum degree of the intake pipe. This not only reduces emissions, but also reduces fuel consumption.
